Maritime Decarbonisation Through Maritime Autonomy

This call by the European Space Agency (ESA) is part of the umbrella “Maritime Decarbonisation” thematic call for proposals. The objective of this subtheme is to develop new services that support the decarbonisation of the maritime sector through “maritime autonomy”.

The following topics are included:

• Enhancing the efficiency of autonomous vessels
• Navigating and overcoming regulatory barriers
• Advancing shore-based infrastructure
• Protecting autonomous systems from external threats
• Supporting the next generation of seafarers (at sea and onshore)
• Increasing autonomy levels
• Improving situational awareness for autonomous operations

Eligibility 

• Open to any company and/or organisation
• Teams must obtain a letter of authorisation from their respective national delegation before submitting a full proposal
